Why did I move away from Medium?
Only as a writer. Still a daily reader.

Why did I move away from Medium? I like reading Medium and end up reading it almost every day. The article curation algorithm has been super successful in at least making me click on the links at least once each day. I don’t mind paying for the subscription either (as long as the content quality is good). So this is not about me drifting away from the service that Medium is but more about why I moved away from Medium and set up my own blog.
While I am a fan of what Medium has to offer as a reader, my writing style (mostly - inconsistent and random!) does not play well with the algorithms there. The platform makes more sense to me if I want to monetise. So I thought to myself - what exactly do I want to share? At first, the clear answer was Engineering. However, I later realised that this is going to be majorly about “what worked?”. Essentially, I wanted to share my learnings of what worked in what situation.
These learnings could span across Engineering, Product, Building a Team or just anything! These are nowhere going to be a compilation of pro tips or a life cheat sheet but whatever were my key takeaways and understanding from a situation. This could vary from being a sentence to a multi page, multi post series.
